To promote intermodality in order to optimise the global performance of the public transport modes, thus increasing their use and reducing the congestion caused by individual transport;

To ensure general coordination of the land transport system by promoting and supporting the implementation of strategies that contribute to:

• the satisfaction of mobility needs through quality services;
• the competitiveness of the sector’s undertakings, through the efficiency of transport equipments;
• the qualification of drivers and other transport professionals;
• the effectiveness and safety of equipments;
• the protection of users rights;
• the  innovation in the sector;
• the reduction of environmental impacts deriving from transport activities.
